Hi,
I'm just wondering if the referees for my match this week can give me a breakdown as to how and why Silas won the match. Thanks.

my judging is numbers game...i score each roleplay from 1-4. Here is my outline for your match. JMW uses a different system...so this is only speaking for me.
Silas Rp #1- 3.1 Sexpert Rp #1- 3.0
+
Silas Rp #2- 3.0 Sexpert Rp #2- 2.7
+
Average Silas- 3.05 Average Sexpert-2.85
=
Total Silas- 9.15 Total Sexpert- 8.55
so the winner by 0.6 points is Silas
And here is a quick rundown of how that goes...i add all of the total grades...then add in the average (to help curb for quality over quantity) and there is your total score.

That does very little to explain anything. Its just arbitrary numbers, I am more interested in a breakdown of why those numbers are what they are. I usually dont care about match decisions, but I find this one to be very questionable.

I bet you wouldn't question me kicking your ass! Booya, but hey I'm with ya id question the hell out of staff...I even think I really beat JMW! But as a former commish I may be able to help, of course I'm speaking for myself and not the current staff.
On the scale similar to what Sirius uses I start everyone at 0 and break it down into catogoreys of which determine my 0-4 or 5 or 10 and so on. Each number represents what I look for like selling, how well it was written, spelling and grammer etc. Then for example we take selling from .0 to 1.0 and grade it and that's how you get a score.
I personally use a different system with the same basic needs of that scale and mine is 0-5 and is structured around how well you sell, incorperate things going on, how creative you are, how well your post flows and weither its said among staff or not it has to be somewhat obvious of learning what your commish looks for and hit hard on those things to score well. But what I do know for sure is all staff devides total score by number of posts to find an average which makes quality over quanity

Jesus kid, take it on the chin and roll with it. I mean hell...I lost to brutal mirror...you don't see me asking for breakdowns and super detailed reasoning. I hadn't read them now but I went and checked them out...and personally...i think Sirius was generious with the grades. Silas, out rped you...you really got yourself a loss with your last rp, it was like you wrote it thinking "hurry and get one up so we can be even because despite how rushed or unlengthy it is...it's okay"

To be honest I want to keep emphasis off of length, though it helps...i grade on quality. Now as you can tell Silas and you kept it near even on rp level, it really was your last rp that killed you. It was rushed...not a lot of "meat" in it...just wham bam and hit enter.

Sirius has basically covered it all, but just for clarity, we both arrived at the same results independently. Usually I judge things on my own and usually it is fairly clear based simply on effort (not the same as length) who won a match so scoring is not too difficult, but sometimes I come across a really tight one that I run by Sirius (or Holiday when he was around). I run a very similar scoring system to Sirius too, scoring posts out of five based on a loose combination of entertainment value, effort, sticking to or driving a story and selling. Respecting your opponent and running with a story is usually what garners higher marks with me, rather than a 1000 word diatribe about past glories and dick jokes. Not that I would suggest this is what you do, Sexpert; I really enjoy your posts and always find them entertaining. Silas just impressed both judges more this week.
I don't have a problem with people questioning management, I think it's fair to say "wait, that doesn't seem right" or to ask for an explanation about a decision. It might be a better idea in future to send PMs, though, rather than open yourself up to other ringers thinking you can't handle a loss, even if that isn't really the issue.

I usually dont care about match decisions, but I find this one to be very questionable. I got the win because your work was sloppy and you just aren't as "sexy" in the ring as you thought. We've all lost and we've all won in the past get over it kid.
If you wanna have another go round next time I'll leave no questions asked about it, you whiny little punkass.
- Signed, Jaxson er um Silas
