I swear my county is tryin to kill the students at times. We already had a pretty strict dress code, but I just looked at it because I knew there was going to be changes to it and additions, but Jesus chrimeny I didn't think it would be changed as bad as it was. We already had a somewhat strict dress, shorts/dresses/skirts/etc. had to be the length of our longest finger, no chains/spikes/etc., no bandannas/do rags/etc unless for religious reasons and tank tops had to be 2 inches wide, no muscle shirts, no jerseys without a t-shirt under them, no low cut shirts, no bras or underwear of any kind showing, etc. Well like I said, I check the new version after hearing about them talking about changing and/or making one for the teachers as well, and the changes pissed me off like crazy.
No dresses, skirts, shorts, or athletic shorts shorter then 4 inches above the knee even with tights and leggings which it used to be they just had to be fingertip length. Now I can't wear any of my shorts or skirts even if I wanted to because while they're past fingertip length for me, they're not 4 inches above the knee. No wheelie shoes, and no coats on inside school buildings during the school day are the main changes for the students, and I'll be damned if I don't wear my jacket inside the classrooms because some of them are pretty damn cold even in winter since they're all controlled differently at my school.
For the possible changes for teachers, they can't have tennis shoes unless PE teachers. No jeans or t-shirts of any kind unless said t-shirt is school based and it's a spirit day. Khakis and dress pants only which a lot of them wear as it is, but a lot of teachers at my school wear nice jeans to school. If the female teachers choose to wear skirts or dresses, since they shared the same rule with the students as fingertip or longer which most of them wore longer ones anyway, they share the same rule with us females again with nothing above 4 inches from the knee. The same with shorts as well, 4 inches above the knee, nothing less.
And the elementary schoolers aren't allowed to wear anything but tennis shoes or some kind of athletic shoes now as well! No kind of sandals, flip-flops, any kind of open toed shoe or heels though I don't know why a elementary schooler would want to wear heels but yeah, that's not the point.
