You know, all my life I've had a sixth sense for danger...
It's nothing spectacular, really.
Alot of people have it.
There are still those days when that sense isn't at its sharpest, for various reasons.
But then there are also those days when it's so on point it's scary, and you smile and thank God he blessed you with it.
It's just one of those days, I guess...
Blake Worship sits backstage in the Regulators locker room suite, watching as Boxer is put to the mat yet again by the vindictive forces of DHS.
He had sensed it...
Worship had known even before the match started what was going to happen.
It was uncanny, nothing like any sense of danger he had ever experienced.
It was MORE than a sense of danger...
It was wisdom... pure and untainted...
Worship had secretly been honing the abilities he had let free from within his soul, and with every new trick he mastered they all pointed to the same source...
Aries...
Blake now knew what Jayson Ray knew inside his own soul. Worship was quickly catching up on the learning curve of the powers they both shared because of this massive demon that inhabited them both. He was beginning to master the phantom skills of the mind Ray possessed due to Aries, and he knew that Ray was trying to do the same, trying to garner some of the awesome power Aries gave Blake.
He also knew The Canadian Destroyer wasn't faring too well in that department, which always brought a smirk to his face these days.
But now, the skills he'd gained had informed him of something sinister that was soon to happen, and that would be tonight.
In Blake's match...
The growth of DHS...
Worship saw it clear as day in his mind, the two men standing in the ring, now joined by a third, their power growing with every passing moment...
Blake's first instinct was to fight, to grab T Money and run to the ring and prepare for an all out battle, totally ignoring his match with Boxer.
But Blake knew that would never end well, especially with so many innocent lives at stake in the vicinity.
Then it dawned on him. This was not in fact danger, but an opportunity...
An opportunity for the rest of REW to truly see DHS for the plague that they are...
So instead, Blake relaxed and eased deeper into his chair, watching and waiting as everything played out.
And now, the time has come for him to act...
The fans are alive with a mixture of cheers and jeers after all they have seen happen in this match, especially to Boxer. His followers boo, but most everyone else can help but laugh and scream their happiness. Boxer lies in the ring, utterly motionless, as referee Chase Evans finally decides to start the match without Blake. The bell is rung, Evans soon counts to 10, and the match is considered over.
Almost immediately after the bell is rung, "Ride On Our Enemies" by Tupac hits the PA and The DemiGod Blake Worship walks out from behind the curtains and down to the ring, sliding in on the mat and standing over Boxer. The fans cheer as they predict this will finally be the end of Boxer's career as they know it, that Blake will take him out indefinitely. Worship stands there for a moment and glares down at Boxer's ruddy face, still beat-red from getting planted into the mat by Cloud's Climhazzard.
Blake then kneels down and gets Boxer by the shoulders, heaving him up to his feet...
Simon: What the hell is going on here?!
Allyson: Shut up and watch!
Worship brushes Boxer off as the huge man struggles to stay on his feet. Blake then moves around to get in front of Boxer and stands a foot from his face. Boxer looks down and realizes who is helping him, and his eyes grow wide and he balls his fists in preparation to swing, but Blake halts him with a hand and pulls a mic from his jeans pocket.
Worship: Whoa there, hold on, buddy. You don't want to do that, believe me. Odds are you wouldn't beat me if you were 100%, so in your current state you might want to think twice about that. Besides, the match is over. You won. You didn't pin me, but you won. Happy now?
Boxer lowers his fist, grumbling to himself but not arguing with Blake.
Worship: Let me start by saying this much. I'm sorry, bro. [loud cheers, slight booing] You're right, I set you up. I totally did. I knew they would come, and I knew what they would do, and I wasn't about to here when it happened. I would've put up a better fight, but that doesn't change much. I let you get your ass kicked by DHS, which is something I've vowed not to let happen to anyone, and for that I'm sorry.
Boxer looks ready to jump Blake, but for once seems to be taking in the whole message and appears willing to listen.
Worship: I want you to know I did it for a reason. I did it so you could see what I see. You are a man fueled by anger and pride, and I told you early on that I liked that about you. I also said it would be the end of you if didn't learn to harness it. Now, you've become the victim of something much bigger than you, something I've made it my mission to destroy. I'm banking on the fact that since your friend Mr. Barrens has finally told you the truth about our feud, about who has been the real instigator in all this, coupled with the beating you were just handed, that you will be more willing to hear me out.
Worship: With all this knowledge floating around you, it should be clear to you now that I have no beef with you, and I never have really. But I am no bitch either, and if someone calls me out, I will lay them the fuck down without a second thought, and I've been doing it for years. In this case, I didn't. Why? Because frankly, I don't have time. Don't let DHS belittle you, a champion in any fed, even a less competitive won, deserves a certain amount of respect. Don't get me wrong, you have still MUCH more to earn to be "respected" around here, but I acknowledge what you've accomplished. But that does not change the fact that I just don't have time to fuck around with you. To put it plainly, I have bigger fish to fry.
Worship: Jayson Ray and I have fought side by side many times in the past, and we've been on opposite sides of wars as well. And I more or less crafted Cloud to become what he is today. You see, this is personal for me. And if you're wondering why I'm telling you all this, it's simple. I don't want you to feel left out. So, how about you join the cause?
Simon: No!
Allyson: Yes! Blake is extending a Regulator hand to Boxer! Unprecedented!
Worship: You've got the look of a Regulator about you, and I'm not just saying that because you're huge. Granted, that's part of it, but that's beyond the point. You don't have to answer now, and you certainly don't have to accept, but mull it over. I know a man with pride like yours may not be able to stomach what I've done to you already, and what I've just let happen to you without any help, but remember I only allowed that to go down so that you might see just what it is I'm up against. You don't have to like me, Boxer. But keep in mind that even my enemies respect what I'm capable of. It would be in your best interest to follow suit. If you want this to be a temporary thing too, just putting our differences aside until DHS is through, that's fine too. But whatever you decide, I'm moving on from this fight. This is not even a battle compared to the war I'm waging. So you can either suit up or step aside, because I'm not going to let myself be distracted anymore. The choice, Boxer, is up to you...
Worship then pulls a black bundle from his back pocket and drops it on the mat in front of Boxer's feet. Blake then rolls out of the ring as his music hits once again and he walks up the ramp and is gone. Boxer picks up the black bundle and unfolds it to reveal it as a large black T-shirt, on its front a shining black skull with sinister white eyes glaring back at him...
